With midwest states like Minnesota and Wisconsin shutting down the walleye season, states such as North Dakota and South Dakota stay open all year. In the month of March and April with safe ice, Devils Lake is a top spot in the country to target quality and quantity of Walleye. You’ll also find trophy northern pike and jumbo perch lurking these same waters. Late ice is definitely a cherished time of year for many ice anglers.
