Minnesota Fishing Destinations

Minnesota offers some of the best freshwater fishing in the country. There’s a great variety of water, from big lakes to scenic trout streams to the mighty Mississippi. Roaming these waters are large and smallmouth bass, trout, panfish, northern pike, muskies, and of course, the mighty walleye. Hunting is also a big tradition here, with small game, waterfowl, turkey, pheasant and deer seasons opening every fall. Hunters in other states envy Minnesota’s ruffed grouse populations, too.

Leech Lake Tourism Bureau

Leech Lake is regarded as one of the hottest walleye fisheries in Minnesota.  Several strong year classes of walleye compliment a diverse fishery that has largemouth bass, jumbo yellow perch, panfish, musky and pike.  Leech Lake is home to several great resorts, phenomenal guides and a host of recreational opportunities that range from hiking and ski trails to houseboats and outdoor concerts.
